Faces of High Street - The Rug Establishment

The Rug Establishment opened its own showroom on High Street Armadale in October 2018. Owners Richard Aucter and Ross Page, two dedicated and passionate entrepreneurs from Queensland, started the company over 12 years ago after realising a niche need for quality, customisable rugs within the A&D industry.

Walking into the impressive showroom is like walking into a gallery of exquisite art. You’ll find gorgeous 12/12 persians with specialised effects such as the use of recycled Sari silk, 6/6 Persian Mamluk and Grass Design rugs that are contemporary, subtle, customisable, 100% NZ Wool and affordable. The pieces are both chosen and created with the accumulated knowledge of client’s needs and interior trends as well as an instinctive eye for quality, beauty, artistry and longevity.

All the products at The Rug Establishment are hand crafted and bespoke is their specialty. Staffed by clever designers, rather than salespeople, they are skilled at listening to clients and offer professional advice, instant quoting and high-tech mock-ups of new rugs in their space prior to the rug even getting made. They even offer in-home consultations for rug choices, sizing and colour selections.

Each rug designed provides industry and a livelihood for a family in India or Nepal. All products are free of child-labour and as an active Care & Fair Initiative, The Rug Establishment fund half of an entire school of 320 students each year, supporting the community that in turn support them by making beautiful rugs.

Continually inspired by artisan craftsmanship and utilising a myriad of the unique fibres, manufacture techniques and thousands of sumptuous colours, their rugs are unsurpassed for beauty and durability.
